Arzu Aybat, in her book The Hump on Photography's Back: September 12, explores the testimonies, reports, and personal stories of photographers who lived under the shadow of the September 12, 1980 coup. At this event, Arzu Aybat will discuss the process of writing her book, the testimonies of photographers, and the reasons why 1980 was a turning point in photography. Özcan Yurdalan, an important witness of the period (as moderator/speaker), accompanied the discussion with his own powerful testimonies about the 1980s.
